Tailwheel pressure

Cessna 140 with maule tailwheel and a 2.80/2.50 - 4 tire. What is proper psi.

That's the same tire as used on the Scott 3200. I think the consensus is 30-40 psi.

I run mine at 40#, when it gets much lower I tend to get shimmys....

I run 40-45. Seems to work well for me.

Prior owner ran it at 25psi for 25yrs without issues. I run it at around 30psi because it leaks down to 25psi over a month or so before I add a little air.

See the attached, and take a look at item #5, and then refer to step 4. Maule Aircraft says to inflate tire from 40 to 45 lbs psi then adjust pressure so that the tire has a slightly flat bottom.
