oil temperature adaptor

Post by 8466 »

I replaced a used oil temperature gauge recently but my AMT encountered a problem. The sensor is inserted into a adaptor with a threaded collar. The adaptor if that is what is called (I can't seem to find in any parts catalog) is threaded into oil screen assembly (part # A3568) on the crankcase cover. Unfortunately what the AMT encountered was the threaded collar is smaller diameter (5/8, 18 thread pitch) than the original oil temperature gauge sensor collar. So my question is what is the number of this adaptor that has same male size as I have now and a female 5/8" 18 thread pitch?

The adapter is part of the gauge. You cannot guaranty mix and match, even if both gauges are the same brand.
