I have heard... a little better than 7:1.

Semi-related to the subject, it varies under different weight loadings but in my airplane about 1600 rpm the "glide ratio" is similar to a low performance sailplane. Circling in thermals can actually produce a climb on a good day.

I'm guessing you are wanting this for Foreflight? I use 7. I hope that is a conservative number if I ever needed to rely on it. But yeah, loading and environmental factors can affect that number as previously stated.

Yes, 7:1 is very conservative but better to be on the safe side. Lightly loaded you should be able to achieve 10:1, maybe more if the prop is not windmilling.
