Thoughts and Prayers for that terrible day. I also cant forget the silence of no aircraft in the skies for the week to follow.

Back then I was a Road Warrior for a communications company. United was my "preferred carrier" and I flew mostly out of Boston. I was on "first name basis" with the crew of UA 175 (Although they called me "Mr. Cooper".)

I also knew Capt. Ogonowski, captain of AA 11 as he lived in a town near by and we were both pilots, although the planes he flew were a lot easier to handle, what with having the nose wheel in front. Occasionally I flew American out of Boston and more than once with him and his crew.

RIP all involved.

The week following I found solace working on my plane at an airfield just outside of Boston. The silence was deafening.

But for the grace of God, I could have been on one of those planes. I was in the office that week and got to watch the plane hit the second tower live on TV. Several of my co-workers left Boston that morning and ended up spending the rest of the week driving back from Dallas.

That's a sobering story John... thankful that fate kept you on the ground that day.

Sobering indeed. Those events had such a long reach into so many lives.

I'm not sure why, but this year more than those past it seems to have come back to haunted me. Thanks for listening...

Capt. Ogonowski owned a farm in the next town and sold pumpkins in the fall. Today there is a R/C flying field in my former town named after him.
