Hello, everyone. I picked up a 1947 120 with an O-290-D2 a couple months back and have been having way too much fun with it. I thought I would drop in and say, "Hi."
I'm in the Moab area so I have endless access to backcountry airstrips and have been using that to my advantage. If anyone comes through the area, I would be happy to show you around.

Re: 120 in the desert
I just picked up a C120 with an O290D as well. I'm down in SoCal but I'd love to head up to your area sometime. I think I saw you on IG the other day.
Looks like you have an awesome playground out there.

Re: 120 in the desert
Your tail number is only 15 aircraft away from one of my previous 120's.
I see a lot of the 16..V and 89... aircraft lately. Unfortunately, none of my previous airplanes exist any more.

Yep, I am part of the unofficial "Miniwagon Mafia" and have been accused of being the ringleader of the Utah chapter. Probably stalked you on IG as well. Dustin aka FlyingFiddler has also mentioned making another trip out here. Let's make it a thing!
I'll try and get on that. I have taken plenty of photos, that's for sure.Rob Swanland wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 5:00 pm Those are some great pictures Joshua! That's some wonderful country - I love the clouds too. If you would, please post a few more pictures in the "Member Aircraft" section.
DO IT!
This is "Happy Canyon" UT97. I affectionately call it "Unhappy Canyon." It isn't the friendliest of strips but the views, history, and surrounding climbing opportunity is wonderful!
