Trying to find P/N 0442116

Post by harejac »

Rebuilding the TW assembly on my C140. I am struggling to find P/N 0442116 (Retainer - Tailwheel Rubber Attachment). Does anyone know where I could find this part?

Thanks,
Jacob

Make your own out of bulk rubber sheet from the hardware store, I don't recall whether it's 3/16" or 1/4" thick.

Where could I find the dimensions for this? I'm also confused what the difference is between P/N 0442116 and 0442119. Have also been unable to find P/N 0442119.

My bad, needed magnifying glass to see the parts book....

0442116 (Retainer - Tailwheel Rubber Attachment) see CESSNA 120/140/140A TAILWHEEL
Spring Set Details, Mysteries and Secrets by Neal Wright, page 13 for parts dimensions to make your own if you don't have it already. Not sure where you'll find it otherwise. It's a metal piece.

P/N 0442119 are just pieces of sheet rubber, I think the bottom one I made from 1/4" thick and the top one 3/16" thick (to help with the tailwheel angle).

You can go to any gasket store and they will have sheet rubber to make this out of. Do you have the old ones to use as a template?

They're just squares with a hole for the bolt. Make them out of a piece of tire sidewall. (Don't remember where I read that...)
