So, this C140 Youth project is full of surprises.
As we go through the airframe, the squawk list continues to grow. We found both lower door sills cracked. Proximity is slightly aft but over the main gear attach. Maybe hard landing? Anyway, researching new parts with Univair as they have them listed. Notification of not in stock. My choices are to make a “nested” repair per AC 43.13 or fab a new part. Yes, I’m the A&P/IA on the project.

Steve Dold who use to be in the Association some time ago posted a good slideshow of making repairs to lower door post cracks. Haven't heard from Steve in quite some time, but his pictures are a great help!

Re: Lower door sills cracked
Jim, IIRC David Lowe has an approved procedure for repairing these, possibly this will trigger Mike or John C memory.
