Tailwheel bushing

Post by 6673 »

Does anyone have info on this part:

Part # 0442114, "Bushing - Tailwheel Attachment Rudder"
23-50 in the parts manual.
Is this a steel bushing?

That is a steel bushing. If you replace it, also replace the AN5 bolt that goes inside of it. Those bolts are in an un-friendly environment and do break. Once that happens the whole tail wheel assembly, leaf springs comes off the airplane and flops around damaging the rudder and potentially elevators. Later s/n's have a AN6 bolt that uses the same bushing, but with a larger ID to accommodate the larger bolt. This is a better set up.

Thanks for the info, Victor!

If I need a bushing, where does one find one? I did a quick google search with no luck.

Preferred Airparts out of Kidron Ohio or "KRN" in Arizona, try them first.
