Aircraft for Sale: N140X 1946 Cessna 140 O-235 36 SMOH - $10,500

This is a project airplane that suffered a broken right gear leg (snapped through at a step attach hole) during an off airport landing. The O-235 has about 36 hours SMOH. It's equipped with a KX-155 (with glide slope, although indicator is single needle), tail handle STC, and VGs

Damage is minimal.

Both wingtips had their fabric scraped on the ground but no appearance of spar damage. The prop got bent (pushed backwards, as if the engine was stopped when the tip touched) but the crankshaft on the 36 SMOH O-235 dials perfectly straight. Landing gearbox does not have apparent damage and the doors fit perfectly, although the lower fuselage directly in front of the gear box has a dent that might have been from the crash recovery. Tailwheel bracket is bent to one side but no damage to rear fuselage.

I've replaced the broken gear leg with one purchased from Kenny Faeth. One of the bush wheels and brake was stolen from the crash site, so I've installed Clevelands with 6.00x6 tires instead and brakes with mounting brackets are included.

This is a complete airplane and an easy project. Paint, fabric, and upholstery are in good condition. Dessicant plugs were installed in the engine for preservation. I'm only selling it because I have a tailwheel 172 conversion underway and a Bearhawk rebuild going on... and moving to California in a few months. I can only take so many airplane projects with me.

First $10,500 takes it. I know it's worth more, especially as parts, but I'd like to see it get a good home through a type club.

Located in my hangar at KRYN (Tucson, Arizona).

I will take proper pictures this weekend and add them to what's already in my DropBox at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/84qijtgjpcoi ... wjPSa?dl=0
