"Standby"?

If it's not the "magnetic direction indicator" required by part 91.205(b)(3), you can get a repair kit from Aircraft Spruce for $13.50 and fix the leak yourself. Otherwise the repair must be carried out by an certified Instrument Repair Station.

[Edit] That might still be a better bet than used.

My IA had a repair kit so I’m legal and flying again - However, I’d still like a vertical card compass when one comes available

Here's a TSO'd example on sale

Cheaper non-TSO'd units available but don't know how that works on our birds-

Dick,

Have you checked on Ebay? There are a few listed.

Is this for the Cessna 140 or 195 you have?

Mike
