Check out Cessna SLN-56 dated 3-8-48. It will give details on how to align your gear. I did my 120 when I installed solid axels. Worked well.

I wanted to provide an update here - I took the wheels off yesterday to put new tires on and while I was down there I inspected the axles. Turns out when the previous owner’s mechanic installed the Grove solid axles he did not use any shims. I looked through my parts box and found some shims - still attached to the old axles.

I’m putting the plane in for annual next week so this should be easy to resolve.

When I first got my plane it was chewing up the outsides of the tires pretty bad. Went through the alignment and found that the shim pack on one side had been installed backwards...
