They do make valve stem extensions - I have them on my other plane. They extend just enough thru the hub cap to allow serving the air and do not have caps. Appear to have a larger diameter inner core/seal than a standard valve core. Never a problem with them loosening.

Just FYI, there's a plane in my hangar right now and one thing the owner wants me to do is repair the threads in the wheels for his hub caps...

My wheels all have 10-32 helicoils in the threads. Made my own hub caps, with small doors to open and put air in . In my high speed fantasy, these hub caps clean up the wheels and make my 140 faster.

The original wheel covers were convex with a radial bend near the outer circumference. They keep things cleaner. Cannot be used with the wheel pant nuts in place. Probable makes your airplane much faster, use caution when installed.

Flat ones press against the valve stem, at least in some installations.

I have photos of Cleveland and Goodyear hubcaps but I’m told the file is too big. I never had trouble before.
