Finally started this project today! Whats the best/correct tool to make the z channel pictured below? I bought a portable metal brake a few weeks back thinking that would be all I need for bending the sheet metal, I've come to realize I can't bend the metal that tight.

As far as the Z channel goes I was looking at possibly using extruded channel. McMaster Carr has it in 2024 and 6061

I'm not sure why you couldn't make that channel on a brake. Maybe you just need to hunt up the right brake for the job. Otherwise, a set of roller dies will do the trick, but you might have to make your own.

I think I found a brake that will work, eastwood sells a brake called the versabend that looks like it would work, it allows to get a lot tighter on the bends. Just hate to spend the cash right now after buying the other brake.

I'll take a look at mcmaster carr and see what they have too.

I wouldn't recommend buying a brake just to make one piece. Try a HVAC installer or a repair shop at the airport.

I would really appreciate the patroller door drawings as well. I worked with a 150 owner that had the patroller doors and they look amazing.
