Fuel Primer

Post by 46cessna140 »

My original 1946 C140 Imperial Brass fuel primer leaks. Feedback on replacing the leather plungers (if available or if they can be made successfully) versus updating to a modern o-ring style primer would be appreciated.

I made one from the leather of an old wallet. Don't ask me any questions, though, as it was about 35 years ago. Still works, though!

Not sure if this is the same primer you have, but here is a Youtube video on making the leather seals for an Imperial fuel primer in a Stinson..https://youtu.be/DshwmMKmTj8?si=DCp-qTvPDFTyUbDG
