Separate elevator trim chain from cable

Looking to replace a frayed trim cable on a C140. The replacement cable comes with a swaged on ball end that is captured by the last link of the chain.

The parts manual refers to three master links, but no evidence of a means of removing the existing damaged cable without (apparently) drilling out the last links pin. Which then leads to the issue of which pin replaces it and how it's fitted.

Any help appreciated - may be missing something obvious.

Find someone who works on motorcycles or bicycles and ask them to press the pin out for you. The tool is called a "chain breaker".

(They can press it back in, too.)

Thanks John. I have one from my motorcycle days. When I looked at the last pin, it seemed "different" than the others, but was not that clear.
