Cessna 120 140 engine mount

Post by bc12d »

A few months ago I bought a serviceable Cessna 140 engine mount from Barnstormers, the seller assured me it was for a Cessna 120 140. The Cessna 120 140 parts book only describes only one part no. for both, Im finding out the bottom mounts on this engine mount is about one inch wider than the C85 engine. Is this mount for an 0-200 or a C90-14 ?

The spacing of the mounting pads is the same for all A-series, C-series and O-200s. The only difference is the late mounts for C90-14 and O-200 are a little shorter measured from the firewall to the mounting surface.

The bottom mounts are 10-1/2" apart center to center. The top ones are 7" C-C.

More likely, yours is bent.

The bottom mounts measure 9 1/2 inches center to center, the top 6 1/2, I must have gotten scammed unless the seller really did not know what he was selling, thanks for your help.

Are you replacing another mount? Do they look the same?

Was it bolted to the firewall when you measured it or tried to fit the engine?

Since both measurements are too tight, I'd guess it's bent, or was repaired without a jig.

I have an airframe and engine but no engine mount, so I purchased a used one from someone on Barnstormers about 8 months ago and am now just finding out that it does not fit the engine, the center to center distance between the lower mount to the engine is only 9 1/2 inches and there is nothing bent, it looks just like a Cessna 140 mount so I have no idea what it belongs to, Im not certain the person who sold it to me knew what it was but thought it was from a 140, I will try and post pictures.
