Air Vent Trim
Well I took the right hand side air vent trim to the local paint shop to try and match the interior color of gray on my 140A and they seem to have misplaced it permanently. I have looked for the part number in the manual and all I see are numbers for the grommet and edging that attaches to the piece. Does anyone have something that shows a part number. Does anyone have any ideas? I’m sure if I had access to the piece I could have one of the big aviation fabricator/restoration shops make another. Help! The attached pic is the left side part.

Re: Air Vent Trim
If you have the Univair parts catalog check out page 76 & 77. I think what you’re looking for is 39-17. It’s called out as Shield Assembly - upper door post with hole. It only lists that for the left, but it may get you pointed in the right direction.
I should say that’s the 140 catalog. Not sure if that applies to the 140A

I may have found it in the 140A catalog. See if 35-8, part number 0411908-1, shield assembly - right is what you’re looking for. That’s Figure 35 on page 62 of the catalog hosted on the association site. The figure is for upholstery installation.

Re: Air Vent Trim
If it's the metal piece, shaped like the leading edge, that the grommet fits in, the number above is correct. And, it is not the same part number as the 140.

Re: Air Vent Trim
Looks like that will be the part number and appears right now completely unobtainable. These pics are of the left side.

You might want to check the salvage yards. Recently there was a lot of like 50 120, 140, & 150 fuselages, wings, parts, etc. offered for sale. You had to buy the whole lot, I imagine it got snapped up by wentworth or someone like that. If you’re on Facebook, there’s a Cessna 120/140 Association group and an Antique Aircraft Parts Exchange group that often has people parting airplanes out. Wouldn’t hurt to post a “wanted to buy” AD
I also saw an ad on EBay for the 120/140 parts last night. Not sure if they’re different. https://www.ebay.com/itm/225760162688? ... er=artemis

Re: Air Vent Trim
Thanks Mac. Hopefully those will work for the 140A as well. I looked all over eBay and never saw those. I really appreciate your help.
