Weight and Balance Day

Post by scotts97385 »

Weight and balance day. The "Last 120" is getting closer to it being back in the air. It is fitted with a 0-200, lightweight starter, battery, alternator, radios, and a sparse interior.
923 pounds with 5 quarts of oil in it!

I have all the Ad's documented and it will need a couple of 337s filled out for the wing recover and avionics installation. Is it appropriate to fill out the 337 forms prior to inspection?

Yes! You need an A&P to sign off on the work and an IA to sign off the inspection. (They can be the same person). They probably don't want to wait around for you to fill in the 337, unless you're paying one of them to do it for you.

I am planning on sending him a picture, Perhaps Mike Seagar can take him up in it for a ride as well!

I'm lucky to be the current owner, Jerry did a great job of keeping it in shape and documenting it all.

I forgot to mention: Unless you are trained at filling out Form 337s, you may want to have the person who is signing off the work fill out the Description of Work Accomplished.
