W&B Arm for seats/back

Post by 6597 »

Just lost 16# of upholstery weight ala' Lorraine Morris magic, what or how should I measure the arm for a new weight and balance? Or, what have folks been using.

Split the fore and aft measurement (front of seat cushions to rear of seat back) or is there a hard and fast measurement from the datum (leading edge of the wing) to use?

After the overhaul and the lightweight starter I'm finally under 1000# empty, with a vacuum system to remove when the pump finally dies for more weight loss. N110V is on a crash diet!

If you've lost a lot of weight, I'd recommend re-weighing the plane. Otherwise, I'd probably just use the arm for the pilot.

Ah, good idea.

I think this summer the bird is going to lose even more weight so want to stay legal during it's incremental loses. I weighed it in 2014 so I have a somewhat recent scale weight to work with, unlike what I inherited moons ago...will do a final re-weigh when it's all over to put a finer touch on it. (on further review I accidentally found +19.5 in the TC)

It's +19.5 on the TC BUT there is a +/- 3 inches adjustment on the seat
