Source for NAS or MS landing gear bolts

With the combination of shims and wheel pant plates on my airplane I need a couple of longer bolts, either NAS144-43 or MS20004-35. Does anyone know of a source? The usual suspects don't seem to carry either.

Are you sure you're measuring these correctly? That's 5/16" longer than the longest one I have. I can't imagine what you could have in there that accounts for 5/16"!

Are you taking into consideration that the length of the MS20004 is grip length, not overall length?

The project came with 8 NAS144-41 bolts. They all work OK except for two of the holes in the right gear that have two shims and the wheel pant plate. Those end up slightly too short. Might be able to get away with -42’s, but want to be on the safe side and extra length doesn't seem to Present a problem.

I found a cross reference chart that says the MS equivalent of an NAS144-43 is a MS20004-35.

I got 8 new MS20004-32 bolts from Dodson International for the new grove axle installation, it will be a wild card for the -35's but might be worth a try (785) 878-8000

I have 2 shims in mine, Cleveland brakes and no wheel pants. MS20004-30 was too long. Just saying... You have the bolt heads up against the inboard side of the gear leg, with no washer, right?

I've sold literally hundreds of these bolts and -28 works for Cleveland and -30 for Goodyear. Maybe one number higher if you have wheel pants.

John, you got me on the right track, and helped me find my error. I was including the head depth in my measurements. Lesson learned.

To summarize: I have old style original brakes, wheel pant plates, and two shims in one of the wheels. The other thing that helped to confuse me (not hard to do) is that even though this airplane is a very early serial number, the brake housings were apparently swapped out at some point with a later version that was used on serial numbers 9175 - 13399.

Now, measured correctly, it appears the four bolts I have are all NAS144-38's. Only two of them are too short, so what I really need is a -39 and a -40. That even matches up with the chart in the IPC!

That translates to MS20004-31 and 32.

I will double check all this tomorrow when I return to the hangar after the tail end of the hurricane passes us by.
