The type of cable end connection shown in the first post will leave you alongside the road. Meaning, a forced landing on a hiway. That connection puts a shear type of stress on the cable and will cause it to snap. However, the use of this type of connection https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog ... ltterm.php sold by AS is much better when installed correctly. Cessna has a very old SB covering this issue.

Ah! That's it! Bug nut, not "B" nut. (I was stuck on "Bung" nut, but that's for a hole in a barrel... Amazing the difference one letter makes!)
