Dome Light Part Number

Post by jimmie »

Can someone please advise the number of the cabin dome light bulb for 1946 model ? I have been unable to find it in the parts manual. Is there a LED replacement?

Thanks, Jimmie

Does the bulb have a number or wattage rating on it? The bulbs used back in that era were all automotive parts. Probably the same as the bulb in a '46 Chevy dome light... ;)

[Edit] I think it might be a GE-1816

With Dave's pic and John's prob part #, Aero-Lites.com has the likely LED replacement: "A premium quality LED drop-in replacement for 12~14-Volt AC/DC, T3-1/4 "tubular shape" single-contact miniature bayonet base (Ba9s) miniature light bulbs. Dimensions are identical to filament version for a no-questions drop-in replacement."

Get one (or at least look at one) from an auto parts store first, to make sure it fits.

Oh crud, now that I re-read his request he just wanted a bulb. It's an 1816 equivalent, I use this for an LED...

Or this...
