I am wondering if anyone may have a picture of Cessna 120 N1913N . From the logs it spent time in Missouri, Michigan, and Maine and was likely blue in color. It was first purchased in Sept 1947 for $ 3456.00 ,financed at $ 144 per month for 24 months, minimum wage then was 40 cents per hour.

Hi, If you've done research so far I'm guessing you own the airplane now? It appears it was exported to Canada in about 2006. (from Maine) to find original pictures is easy. Find a picture of any production aircraft, "Originally" they all looked the same with the same paint schemes, with red, green, blue or yellow trim. Polished aluminum fuselage and silver painted wings.
If someone painted it differently, then you would need to find one of the later owners(after new) and see if they have a picture of the airplane with their paint job. My guess is that if you keep occasionally posting, someone may know one of the earlier owners.

If you go here and enter the serial number you will find where it is if it's in Canada.

Victor, not meaning to be controversial

but if IIRC, I wouldn't call it "polished" but rather "bare aluminum", unpainted skin.
From a dinosaur who soloed in1946!

Thanks Victor, I have owned N1913N since 2006 and it is in Canada registered as CF-SED. I bought the CD from the FAA and also got Mort Brown's CD. Both were great for information and I got thinking I'd like to see a picture of what she looked like leaving the factory. It was interesting that the first owner put up a 1941 Studebaker as collateral for his loan of $ 3456. Sixty years later I bought her for $ 23,000. You may see SED in next years calendar

I see you have it in OM, I'm considering that but then going to a 120/140 convention is off the table.....

Hi Blaine, Are you near Landis SK ? Ya the OM Category is a personal decision, it was a no brainer for me and 14 years later I have no regrets.

Hi,
no, I'm near Moose Jaw. I know people say it devalues the airplane but if you consider the cost of an AME annual every year for 10 years you can almost afford to give it away after that. I agree that if you intend to keep the airplane for a long time and have no need to fly to the US then it makes sense.
I know a few AME's around here so will see what this annual costs me this year and decide after that.

I can't help but wonder what the 1941 Studebaker used for collateral would be worth today...
