Cessna 140 Restoration

Post by nathanhiebert »

I've been working on this 1946 Cessna 140 restoration for 2 years. It started as a project for me and my 16-year-old son. We had a great time working together on it. While I consider myself more of a mechanic (A&P / I.A.), my son is aspiring to be a corporate pilot someday. I thought what a better way to become a pilot, than to first fully understand how the airplane works, plus have some ownership in it! First flight on the airplane happened 1/13/2023. This aircraft had not flown in 25 years and had not had a current annual in 30 years. It's always great to see an old airplane come back to life. Check out my full restoration on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgUOkJ ... U1vwUGDw6A.

Amen, Nate!! Thanks for sharing the "beginning" pics as well as the background story...and, importantly, thanks & CONGRATS to you and to your son for bringing this beauty back to life. We'll look forward to digging in to the YouTube video!! Mac
